By all accounts, Carlos and Peggy Perez-Olivo had a great marriage. He was an attorney well known for defending drug dealers. She was a teacher’s aide at a local public school. They had three exceptional children- one an attorney, one in college, and one still living at home. Peggy and Carlos lived in an exclusive neighborhood in Chappaqua, New York, where they were neighbors of Bill and Hillary Clinton. But the charmed lives of this family changed one night in 2006.
Join us at the quiet end for A Shot in the Dark. On November 18, 2006, Carlos and Peggy were on their way home from a night out in New York City when they were both shot in their car. Carlos said they had been the victims of an attempted carjacking. Or, he offered, maybe an angry former client had put out a hit on the couple. But Peggy was killed in the shooting and Carlos survived, leading investigators to take a closer look at Carlos. And what they found quickly moved Carlos to the top of the list of suspects.
