Shoplifting may not be the most serious of crimes, but in 2011 a pair of stolen yoga pants set off a brutal murder. Jayna Murray and Brittany Norwood were working together at the Lululemon retail store on March 10, 2011 when the attack occurred. The next morning, Jayna was found brutally murdered inside. Brittany was found as well, lying the floor with her hands zip-tied above her head.
The attack had been ruthless, leaving Jayna with over three-hundred devastating wounds from at least five separate weapons. Brittany, the only witness, told police that two masked men had abducted them when they returned to the store for a forgotten item after closing. One of the men, according to Brittany, told her that she was too cute to kill.
Join us at the quiet end for Senseless: The Bethesda Yoga Store Murder. A yoga store is one of the last places we would expect to find such violence. With the use of CCTV footage and good old-fashioned police work, police embarked on a manhunt for the killer. There were several leads and mountains of evidence, but their perpetrator was closer than anyone had imagined.
