Christopher Wilder seemed to have it all. Born into a loving family, he never wanted for anything as a child. He was doted on, and probably spoiled, by his parents. Yet there was something amiss about him. He had few friends as a young child, and was often alone. As he approached adolescence he demonstrated a proclivity to peeping in windows. When he was caught doing this, there were no apparent repercussions, almost a “boys will be boys” attitude.
As Wilder approached his late teens, he graduated from voyeurism to rape. At the intervention of his parents he was given probation and no jail time. Perhaps sensing that things were not going to improve for him in Australia, Wilder emigrated to the United States. He was not a model citizen in the United States either.

Hi Jill and Dick,
Until the 1950s, rape was usually a capital offense. Up until then there were several hundred murders a year across the US. And no gun control laws. By the 1960s the criminal justice system started favoring the villain over the victim, escalating over the decades. Now there are several thousand murders a year across the US, with gun control laws. So rape, and many other crimes, were downplayed and most states have very lenient sentencing. Likewise, Canada, UK, Australia, NS and western Europe. (Dr Thomas Sowell, Dr Stanton Samenow, Richard Walter, etal.) So it wasn’t just women overlooked in rape crimes, but almost all victims of crime.
