The Murder of Alan Helmick

On the morning of June 10, 2008, a robbery was staged in the Colorado home of businessman Alan Helmick.  His wife, Miriam, came home to find Alan on the floor in a pool of his own blood. Because Alan had been shot in the back of his head, investigators believed that he had been taken by surprise and executed.  But who was Alan’s killer and what was the motive?

Join us at the quiet end for In the Cold Light of Day. After two years of marriage, Miriam and Alan were known to be a happy couple.  Miriam had financial issues in her past, but she and Alan had worked out an arrangement where his property was kept in his name and Miriam was given spending money as she needed it.  It wasn’t until after his death when it came out that Alan had his own financial issues and that there had likely been previous attempts on his life.
