This style of beer is brewed with a special yeast that ferments more quickly at warmer temperatures.
An amber colored beer with a thick white head.
Aroma and taste of yeast, butter, and corn.
Crisp and light.
An under-appreciated style.
Anchor Brewing was about to declare bankruptcy in 1965, when it was purchased by Fritz Maytag. In 1971 Maytag began bottling Anchor Steam Beer. The rest is history.
